In cooperation with Hungary Helps Program, 22 organizations will be showcased on 480 sqm, representing 18 African countries in Pavilion „H” Booth No. 501 of HUNGEXPO Budapest Fair Center between 3-6 March, 2022. Most of the exhibitors are non-profit organizations that carry out sustainable development projects in various African countries with the funding of Hungary Helps Program.
Some of them build schools or hospitals in Tanzania or in the DR-Congo. Others address the menstrual poverty in Mali or cover the school tuition fee of children living in poverty in various countries accross the continent. In one hand, this unique and gap-filling event in East-Central Europe presents a wide range of projects supported by the Hungarian state in Africa. On the other hand, the expo will be attended, by „everyday heroes”, volunteers and representatives of NGO-s who enthusiastically help Africa with their professional experience. Some of the exhibitors offer voluntary opportunities for qualified, motivated young Hungarians to create something useful and valuable on the African continent, and secondly to develop their own character and expand their life experience.
Visitors can also explore tourist destinations, meet the agency’s group attendants and staff in person at the Utazz Afrikába Tour Operator (Travels to Africa) stand, and learn about travels to Tanzania, Zanzibar, Senegal, Algeria and other exciting regions.
Families with children can learn about African art in an interactive way: they can make pearls, create masks, and build African animal figures out of paper, among many other fun family programs at the African Children’s Corner.
Various side cultural events will accompany the expo at the Ethiopian Airlines Africa Stage. The stage will host introductory performances, roundtable discussions and other high-quality cultural programs during the event. Dance shows, balafon music, and photo – screening about African journeys will be presented on the Ethiopian Airlines Africa Stage, as well as the central stage of International Travel Show, a co-event of the Africa Expo. On 4 March 2022, a conference for the professional audience will be organised. At the African Art Gallery’s booth and the African art market corner visitors can find handcrafts, masks, jewelries, and clothes made in Africa.
